Appointment of District Lead Volunteer – Staffordshire Scouts – Newcastle
After an extensive and comprehensive county volunteer appointment process, I am pleased to announce that Owen Dyde has accepted the role of District Lead Volunteer for Newcastle District
I would like to thank Vera Bloor who has been an excellent District Commissioner for the last 10 years. Thanks Vera it is much appreciated, and I am sure you will support Owen going forward.
Handover arrangements will begin shortly including arranging continuing support for Owen in his new role.
Owen has said “I’m really looking forward to being able to support you all and the District at this exciting time. As many of you know I’ve been part of Newcastle District since I was a Cub which is a very long time ago! Now it’s my time to give something back and I can’t wait to make use of every opportunity that working together will bring. I look forward to being able to catch up with you all in the coming months.”
Once Owen has his feet under the table, I am sure he will be meeting with his district team to agree the way forward during these exciting times for Scouting. Owen and Vera will agree an appropriate handover period and transition which will take place over the next few months.
Please join me in congratulating Owen, wishing him well in his new Scouting journey and give him generous support through this initial transition.
Yours in Scouting
Rich Williams
Lead Volunteer – Staffordshire
Vera commented “I’d like to be the first to congratulate Owen on this appointment and thank him for agreeing to take on the role. I look forward to continuing to work with him, both as DC and once the transition takes place, which we anticipate being at the Annual General Meeting . Unsure what my future involvement will be at this time, this is very much a “work in progress” for discussion. I’d like to thank the County appointment search team, led by Elizabeth Birch, County Chair, for their hard work in conducting the search.”
