There are nearly 900 young people in Newcastle District Scouts , spread between 15 Scout Groups. We are located across the whole Borough from Red Street in Chesterton, through to Ashley and Madeley in the  rural areas.

All our activities give young people skills for life, and we are run entirely by volunteers.

It has been shown that people have been scouts or volunteer in Scouts are more confident, independent , resilient and are more active and connected in their communities.

Each group is led by a Group Scout Leader, supported by a team of uniform leaders, a chair, secretary , treasurer and often fundraisers.

We urgently need more volunteers in the District, to ensure some Groups continue to run and to enable more young people to participate,

We have vacancies for a Group Scout Leader, a chairperson, 2 treasurers and volunteers to work with young people.

You don’t have to be available every week to join in, and training and support is given for all the roles.  Volunteering in scouting is great on your CV and has been shown to assist people in their employment.
