A couple of days after the bombing in Manchester, the owners of the Hippy Hippy Shake Company decided to put on a festival in Newcastle to raise money for the families affected by that awful event.
The festival is being held today, Saturday 10th June and tomorrow, Sunday 11th June and has stalls, music, a yogathon, raffles and much more. Scouts from across the District have been helping out by marshalling and helping with the collections.
District Commissioner Vera even got to chat to “The Worlds Strongest Man” Eddie Hall, who was there to support the festival. Eddie told Vera that his time with 107th Westlands Cubs taught him all about teamwork!
More help is needed for Sunday, so if anyone can give them some spare time please go to the Red Cross outside cafe Nero to help. If you’re a Scout please turn up in your uniforms.
We hope the festival raises a lot of money for the people affected by the Manchester bombing and were are proud to be able to help out.
