Newcastle District Scouts will be in Newcastle Town Centre on Saturday 17th September as part of the Town’s Food Festival 2016.
We will have tea and cakes for sale and a prize raffle. 1st Porthill’s Drum Corp will be playing in the Town and the cast of Castle Capers will be singing some songs by the Market Cross. We will also have a climbing wall and a number of other food related activities!
Money raised by the District will go towards the charity North Staff Young Mind who help young people struggling with their mental health.
The aim of the festival is to celebrate local food culture whilst highlighting the amount of food poverty and the need for food security and sustainability within the area of North Staffordshire.
This Community Food Celebration will start with us parading through the town with 1st Porthill’s Drums and supermarket trollies planted with edibles! There should be a big red tractor there with some animals!
