Explorer Scouts and Scout Leaders joined Newcastle Borough Mayor, Cllr Sandra Hambleton, this morning to raise a flag in Queen’s Gardens, Newcastle to mark Armed Forces Day.
They were joined by representatives from The Royal British Legion, standard bearers from local ex-servicemen associations and local cadets.
Cllr. Hambleton said: “The ceremony is an opportunity to show support to the bravery and dedication of the men and women who make up the armed forces community, from those who currently serve in the Navy, Army and Air Force to service families, veterans of all ages and cadets.”
