Ian Emmens has been asked by Vera (and myself) if he would consider taking on the role of ADC Scouts once again. His name was one of three that were nominated for the role and we would both like to thank those who took the trouble to nominate individuals for the role (or who nominated themselves, of course).
Jay Auckland, who is at present already a District Scout Leader, has been asked to take on a much more pro-active version of the same role (N.B. In Newcastle we have excellent District Leaders in all sections – but nearly always as an add-on to their main leadership role rather than as their “main” appointment.) This will be Jay’s main Scouting role; he has the remit to visit Troops, to assist Ian and to gather information as to what the individual Troops would like the District to help them with.
Both Vera and I hope you will all give both Ian and Jay your full support.
