This year’s AGM was held at 79th Clayton’s headquarters and the guests of honour were the Mayor and Mayoress of Newcastle, the Assistant County Chairman and the County Commissioner.
After the formal part of the meeting was completed, the District Commissioner gave out some awards. After giving out certificates of appointment, Steve gave of Long Service Awards to Dot Bailey and Karen Emmens.
Steve asked the County Commissioner, Paula, to present an award. She gave a 30 Years Service Award to Linda Baddelely the District Secretary.
The Assistant District Commissioner for cubs, then gave a Thank You badge to Jackie Sutton from 36th St. Wulstans for all the work she has done over the years. He also presented Karen Baker from 79th some flowers as it was her birthday!
The County Commissioner said that there was lots to be proud of in Newcastle and that we should all be shouting loudly about our achievements.
The Assistant County Chairman said that it was the first time she had been to a Newcastle AGM and she gave the thanks for all the hard work done by the uniformed and non uniformed members on behalf of the County chairman and the Executive.
After the meeting ended everyone went to view displays from various Groups on what they have been doing over the past 12 months.
