I am extremely pleased to be able to inform you that I have appointed Paul Kelsall and Viv Bradford as joint DESC (District Explorer Scout Commissioner). The splitting of the role needs to be done carefully and with full consultation with those working in the section. To allow everybody input as to how the role can/should be split, I have asked Sharon, our Explorer Section Administrator, to call a meeting of Explorer Leaders so everybody feels they can have an input.
I think this is an extremely exciting time for the section and feel Paul and Viv can take Newcastle Explorers forwards in the way it needs to, building on the strong foundations that both Dave Gray and Dave Prince have established. I am sure you will support them in their new role.
