2013 Remembrance Day

Groups throughout the District took part in Acts of Remembrance yesterday.

Scouts from 14th Basford, 15th St. Giles, Explorers and members of the Keele and Newcastle Networks took part in the Parade and Ceremony in Newcastle Town Centre along with various representatives of the Armed Forces, veterans, and local civic dignitaries.

Scouts from 36th St. Wulstans and Centurion Explorers joined members of the community and the local churches for the ceremony at Wolstanton’s War Memorial.

Scouts from 74th Silverdale and Phoenix Explorers joined with members of their community and the congregation of St. Lukes for a ceremony of Remembrance in Silverdale.

Scouts from 1st Porthill joined with members of the community, local councillors, members of St. Barnabas and St. Andrews Churches and veterans for a parade, led by Porthill’s Drum Corps, from Bradwell to Porthill. At Porthill they all took part in the Remembrance Ceremony at Porthill’s War Memorial.
